Where Should My Course Live?

Oct 6, 2020Course

So you are thinking about launching a course? That’s great! It’s a great way to earn money and help a lot of people.

First, let’s decide on a platform.

I know there are a lot out there, so I picked my top 5 platforms. In my next blog, I’ll discuss plugins for WordPress that are for courses.

There are more options than just the 5 below, but these tend to be the most popular.

Kajabi

Kajabi has actually been around longer than Teachable but wasn’t as well known until a few years ago. It is quite pricey, but you get so much bang for your buck. Its Basic tier is $119/month surprised I know, right??

For the basic you get:

  • Unlimited Landing Pages
  • Unlimited Email Marketing Emails
  • 10,000 Contacts
  • 1,000 Active Members
  • 1 Website
  • Quizzes & Surveys
  • 3 Products (so 3 Courses)
  • 3 Pipelines

So, where are you doing your email marketing now?

Where is your website hosted?

Those other costs can add up, and that’s really what you want to think of if you move everything to Kajabi. Is it worth it?

Clickfunnels

Many people use Clickfunnels for their funnels, and if you already are using it for that, this makes it a no brainer to go with it, but what if you’re not. Clickfunnels is $97/month, and with that, you get:

  • 20 Funnels
  • 100 Pages
  • 3 Payment Gateways
  • 3 Domains

You can use Clickfunnels for more than just your course, which is another thing to think about.

Thinkific

Thinkific, while hard to say, is easy to create with. They have a FREE option that offers:

  • 3 Courses
  • Unlimited Students
  • Quizzes & Surveys
  • Content Hosting

Their next option is their basic plan, which is running $39/month and has a lot to offer with:

  • Unlimited Courses & Students
  • Coupons
  • Email Students
  • Drip/Scheduled Content
  • Custom Domain
  • Zapier Triggers
  • Email Integrations

Thinkific is going to be a top option in the online course world.

MemberVault
MemberVault has a FOREVER FREE option. Now you are capped at 100 people for free. Their next level is $39/month, and at $39/month, you can remove their MemberVault branding, and your cap goes up to 10,000 people. All other features are the same.

Teachable

Teachable has been around for a while. A few years ago, I would’ve said it was the best option, but there are so many different platforms now.

Teachable use to have a free option, but they have since removed that option. Now, you can launch your course for $39/month plus transaction fees. For this price, they also offer:

  • Custom domain support
  • Coupon codes
  • Drip course content
  • Integrated email marketing
  • 2 admin-level users
  • Third-party integrations

So, when your first getting started, it has the basic needs.

Remember, there are more options than just these 5. Pick what fits your business the best.
